I’m very excited to announce that sweet little Gwendolyn has been featured in Cape Ann’s local newspaper, the Gloucester Daily Times!

A couple of weeks ago, local reporter Quinn Allen-Wardell contacted me about doing a story on local authors and illustrators for the newspaper. Little did I realize that the entire article would be dedicated to this book! You’re welcome to read the full article here: Former Local Resident Illustrates Children’s Book

As you can imagine, I was delighted to receive word of this release this morning. I got emails from both family and coworkers saying “Hey look!!” It was a very happy feeling to wake up with, indeed.

I continue to be amazed that this has turned into a reality. I’ve gone most of my life thinking that doing a project like this would be fun to do ’someday’, but never thought I would really be seeing my name on the cover of a book, and more importantly, in the homes of children who are smiling and laughing while seeing the illustrations. [insert warm and fuzzy feeling here] : )

Thank you for all of your support, everyone! I have to say that Rockport has really been a blessing to me in so many ways. The community is tirelessly supportive when we ‘Rockport kids’ grow up and make a name for ourselves, even if we’ve moved away. Andrew Stanton did it… talk about inspiration! While I doubt I’ll be creating the next Finding Nemo any time soon, it’s nice to know that big things are possible from this quaint coastal village.
